Toto, Tin Man, and a pair of ruby slippers? Not in this story… This is a tale of engineers, acousticians, and tapping machines. Now that we’ve eliminated most of our readers, let’s follow the yellow brick road to the enchanting city of Seattle, Washington.

Imagine a scene, set in sepia tone. An acoustician and his dog, team of engineers, marketing director, office administrator, and two office locations in Denver and Kailua. The acoustician dreams of opening a third office in the Emerald City of Seattle.

Set change: [less tornados and winged monkeys] Now in Technicolor. Enter mysterious wizard, err, Professional Engineer, INCE Bd. Cert., LEED AP BD+C, Jeanette Hesedahl.

Peering deep into her crystal ball, the Wicked Witch of the West discovers a new CENSEO Seattle office. Even further, past Munchkinland and the Haunted Forrest, is Jeanette Hesedahl, Senior Project Manager in the new CENSEO Seattle office. She has practiced wizardry – by way of acoustical consulting – in the land since 2004. She graduated from Oregon State University in 2001 and received her Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Washington in 2006. Jeanette is Board Certified with the Institute of Noise Control Engineering with LEED AP BD+C credentials. Clearly, of the most feared enchanters of her kind, with a Sound Level Meter as a broomstick.

The Wicked Witch learns that Ms. Hesedahl has authored several industry publications and currently serves as co-chair of the Building Acoustics Committee for the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE). The crystal ball reveals that the areas of Jeanette’s consulting expertise include sound isolation control, reverberant sound, interior acoustics, environmental noise, mechanical noise and vibration control, and noise propagation modeling; with project portfolio sectors in education, mixed-use, residential, industrial operations, high rise, performing arts, commercial, environmental assessment, and others.

Realizing the professional threat, the Wicked Witch of the West welcomes Jeanette and all live happily ever after.

And the best ending to our story…it’s not just a dream any longer.

*Note to the reader: The Wicked Witch of the West character is based purely in fiction but can be cast if a direct competitor would like to fill the role.
