CENSEO’s own Melanie Pappas attended the annual BICSI Fall Conference held in Las Vegas September 15-19th. BICSI is a global organization dedicated to advancing the information and communications technology (ICT) profession. BICSI also offers certifications such as RCDD (registered cable distribution designer), among others. The conference offered many options for learning, exploring and networking and Melanie, a 30-year-member, took full advantage! In addition to discovering new products and learning from manufacturer’s representatives in the exhibit hall and general sessions, Melanie attended three masterclasses.
In “AV Like Paint By Numbers”, she was able to gain a greater appreciation for the complexity of AV design and best practices for coordinating with ICT Structured Cabling Systems. A masterclass session on FTTx Outside Plant Design provided insights on proper of P2P and P2MP OSP optical network design with homerun, centralized, and distributed topologies. At “FMP or PoE, Power Alphabet Soup” Melanie learned more about the many options available to power new technology and considerations in choosing the right one for various applications and conditions. This includes cost, feature sets, installation, maintenance and more.
CENSEO regularly invests in professional development opportunities for its team members.
