Nick holds a B.S. in Music and Communications from Northeastern University in Boston. Throughout his academic journey, he honed his skills in music technology, music theory, and design – leading him to a keen interest in acoustics. Nick’s experience in room acoustics, sound isolation, noise and vibration control, and environmental noise reflects his interest in creating well-designed acoustic environments. Since joining CENSEO’s Kailua office in 2024, he has supported a wide variety of projects through acoustical measurements, design-phase reviews, and the thoughtful application of acoustical standards and criteria to ensure effective design solutions.

What’s one thing you’ve learned that has shaped the way you work?

Each project is unique, and this industry is constantly full of new opportunities to learn and expand my skills. I’ve come to value thoughtful problem-solving and the discernment to say, “I’m not sure, but I’ll find out.” Taking the time to research and provide the right answer, not just the fastest one, leads to honest and dependable design.

Do you have any favorite projects you’ve worked on to date? Or type of project?

I’ve had the opportunity to work on the design of several educational/university music programs and found my experience with them to be extremely fulfilling. It’s an interesting application of acoustical concepts, standards, and design goals. Creating environments that are supportive of specific instrumentation and enable collaboration while simultaneously isolated from distractions to ensure quiet practice spaces is a rewarding challenge!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I’ll take any chance I can get to be by the ocean. Whether it’s swimming, surfing, bodyboarding, shelling, snorkeling, or just laying in the sun with a full belly, I’m happy!
