The CENSEO team is thrilled to celebrate the opening of the Arvada Aquatics Center! Designed by OLC Architecture with CENSEO providing acoustics and technology design, and built by Saunders, this new facility meets diverse community needs, from recreational swimming to competitive events.

The new, 50,000-square-foot complex includes a 50-meter competition pool with adjustable bulkheads for versatile event configurations and a secondary 25-yard pool with warmer water ideal for swim lessons, exercise, and other general uses. A diving well, equipped with three 1-meter springboards, three 3-meter springboards, and a 3-meter and 5-meter platform, is the only facility of this caliber in the state outside of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, making it a premier location for diving competitions. There’s seating for over 800 spectators and on-deck participant seating for over 600.

CENSEO’s design uses a layered approach. All loudspeakers in the natatorium have well-controlled dispersion to minimize unwanted acoustical reflections, reducing “unwanted sound energy,” aka, “noise”. The lower level around the pool deck includes a series of wall-mounted column speakers only for occupants on the deck. The upper level is a group of directional speakers covering only the spectator area.
