What talent or skill do you possess that most people don’t know about?
Despite the highly technical nature of my work, I enjoy disconnecting in my spare time. My pastimes vary, but have included raising sheep, renovating houses built in the 19th century, tree work, and furniture building.
What’s it like to relocate to Hawaii?
It’s very exciting to leave Ohio to join the CENSEO team on an island in the middle of the Pacific. I had relocated for work at a previous job, however the Midwest to Hawaii culture shift has been stark (but delightful); except the wandering chickens in Kailua…those remind me of home.
What do you enjoy most about working in this industry?
Entertainment and event production boil down to the professional practice of storytelling with the goal of establishing connection between people. I believe this translates well to the built environment and AV systems. Our work as AV designers, engineers, and acousticians enables our clients to connect with their audiences, removing barriers and friction through creative use of technology. I’m passionate about bringing people together with good design.
